For so many people, MP = Mileage Plus...and especially since we don't know if the new UACO will retain that name for their new combined frequent flyer program...

I know that the site's been live for a whole day and therefore old habits die hard, but I figured it was worth a proposal.

On a different thread (where?) someone suggested MiPo. I kind of like that ... it's even pronounceable!

MPt is pronounceable- "empty". Hmm, that's an argument in favor MiPo. [IMG]

The problem is MiPo/MIPO means Marist Institute for Public Opinion.

You think that "MiPo" is too close to "Military Police" but "MP" isn't???

It is clear that you didn't spend time in the Army getting drunk and disorderly on weekends. [IMG]

In Germany they are officially called Feldjäger = field hunter [IMG] which describes them very good.

I was never in the Bundeswehr but my first two years in the American Army were spent in Italy. We also had choice words for the MPs, but nothing that I can post here without finding myself as MilePoint's first suspendee!

Yes ... I think the "MP" is a much more common abbreviation, from (two!) FF programs to military police.

I'm using "MiPo" until there is an official abbreviation. :D

    I actually like that one.
That looks like a modified land rover. Is the German government running on British Engineering? [IMG]

    Worse it's a Nissan.

  23. I say we refer to it as MP, as it is obvious based on the context of a thread normally if you are referring to this message board or a frequent flyer program...

someone in the SFO area once had an old Datsun with license plate "ice car". if people asked why, he replied, with a thick fake Italian accent, "Datsun Ice Car".

So, with that in mind, that Nissan is a nice Datsun.
