Steve Virgadamo has started to hear rumors about a delta SkyMiles status above diamond elite? Anyone have any insights as to what it might be?

    Thank you,

    Steve Virgadamo

    Absolutely!

There's a tier called Kryptonium Medallion and qualifications for induction into the Program at this time is unknown. More information can be found at FlyerTalk.

Why are you referring to yourself in the 3rd person?

The only 'above DM' designation are the letters "HVC" after your name on the manifests.

What about major share holders, BOD, corporate senior management?
Do they get a special "Black Card" or they are just given complimentary Platinum / Diamond status? :)

IMO, nobody receives 'complimentary status' outside of the Million Mile matrix.

They give DMs to VIPs like the gov of GA and also if you have a delta private jets card with a 50k prepaid balance or higher.

Are you absolutely sure about both of those scenarios? I could see the pvt scenario, but a VIP like the governor is still not guaranteed an UG as a DM, especially flying out of ATL. I would think government officials would fly pvt or leased, not commercial.

Delta 360. It is a revenue based club like GS on UA.

The 'trial' ended in February. I don't see anything additional in excess of Diamond. DMs have an 'exclusive' phone # to use and the "assistance in making tight connections" (aka the Porsches in ATL) have been around for a couple of years now. I'm not a '360' member but I've been offered a ride in between tight connections 7 times since the service began in ATL. I can't speak about similar service at other hubs. I have no experiences outside of ATL.

Nope. They mostly fly commercial. Private is WAY more expensive.

Yes there was a big stink because the GA gov got this big benefit in 2011 for providing DL a tax break:

And I'm sure about the DPJ card holders.

Diamond Medallion for Delta Private Jets cardholders is an advertised benefit of the jet card.

Even on the government's dime? I would have thought they'd find some way to justify any cost.

Especially on the government's dime. Most elected officials are only authorized to buy economy on commercial flights.

I guess there's no way to hide unusual/unnecessary spending anymore. I guess that's a good thing.

I've never explored the DPJ service. All I have to say is that of I could afford private jet service, I wouldn't care about any kind of status!! Thanks for the info.

The US Air Force's VIP fleet is smaller than people think it is. If they are flying on government business, and if they are senior enough (cabinet level or certain congressional leaders, I think), I believe they can ask the USAF for a VIP plane, if one is available. However, given the relatively small size of the fleet, they're not always available. And I don't think any US state has an equivalent of Air Force One.

I wonder how comp DM status fares in the pool of other diamonds.... What priority would their UGs clear? I imagine if they buy only economy, they could buy a full Y fare and be closer to the top of the list. I've seen full Y fares cheaper than F.

I know back in the NW days, I would frequently see our congressman on the flights from DTW and have had several opportunities to sit next to them. At that time, they were just like any other pax and had a position on the UG list. Sometime I would be UG and they wouldn't.

I once sat next to the Congresswoman from Guam all the way to DC (talk about a long commute). She had cleared GUM-HNL-IAH but not IAH-DCA while I had already cleared -IAH-DCA. She eventually cleared at the Gate after an no-show and sat next to me again saying hello there old friend. :)

Must have been Madeleine Bordallo the non-voting congressional delegate that Guam gets to send to DC. She is the only woman to have served Guam in this capacity AFAIK. Cool.

Kind of a newbie question. I'm checking 2 large boxes and 1 large suitcase (3 free checked bags) but i was considering bringing a smaller carryon suitcase filled with heavy books that I don't necessarily need to stay with me. Since they are always looking for volunteers to check bags at the gate will anyone care that this suitcase is technically my 4th checked bag? I'll just carry it on all the way if I have to but I don't want to take other people's overhead space for no reason.
My parents just happen to be on my same flight so they're going to be checking 2 bags for me too. This is getting a little ridiculous.
edit: Sorry Steven Virgadamo (and others) I posted this in the wrong thread! Didn't mean to muck up Steven Virgadamo's Steven Virgadamo thread.
