Starting 30 October 2011, SQ will add frequency to some destinations in Southeast Asia, North Asia and other market.

    • For Singapore - Bangkok, SQ will fly five times a day instead of the current four times daily.
    • Between Singapore to Tokyo-Haneda, the frequency will go back to twice a day. With the recovery of the demand for travel between Singapore and Japan, SQ will also increase the flights to Osaka from ten a week to eleven.
    • The frequency will be doubled between Singapore - Guangzhou, from seven a week to 14 a week.
    • Between Singapore and Mumbai, the current 14 flights a week will increase to 17 flights total. Ahmedabad, which currently is served twice a week, will increase to three.
    • Subject to approval, the frequency between Singapore and Istanbul will increase from 4x a week to six times a week. Three of these flights will continue to Athens.
    • For Cape Town, the frequency will increase to four from three currently, via Johannesburg.

Yes, I did not see the new schedule yet for SIN-BKK. But, when I go to Expert Flyer, I was able to see the second flight for SIN-HND-SIN, i.e. SQ636/SQ635. :)
I guess we just have to be patient. :D

I hope the extra frequency from BKK will depart in the late afternoon, around 4-5pm. Currently SQ975 departs BKK too early to get anything done in the morning, while SQ979 arrives SIN too late in the evening especially when I have to work the following morning.

Hoping for a timing which is closer to the old SQ64/67 timing departing SIN at around 1pm and coming back to SIN at 7pm.

I wish SQ would reinstate F for those two flights. Nice lunch out from Singapore, and great dinner on the way back. :D

I was late to the game and my first SQ flight to BKK was SQ64 in 2007, although that time it was departing at 2.15pm and the return flight, SQ67, was departing BKK at 4.40pm IIRC, and they had already changed the equipment to 773. Not long after that, this pair of flights was renumbered SQ976/979.

+1! I still remember getting the op-up to F one time on SQ979. The flight was overbooked badly and F ended up to be 18/18. When we deplaned, I snuck a peek at the manifest and found out that only 2 pax were actually booked in F, the rest were op-ups. And there was **HOT PAX** next to my name, whatever that means :D

I always thought the Grd Staff included that comment whilst checking in Pax so that all the FAs will go ogle at the HOT pax :p

I had a 70-minute connection to SQ968! Thanks, I finally know the meaning of "HOT PAX", although I would not lie that I had wished it meant something much more exciting than "TIGHT FLIGHT CONNECTION" ;):p
