There are some frequent flyers who hold top tier status in multiple Star Alliance members. I know of a person who holds SQ PPS, UA 1K and AC SuperElite. I am certain there are a few who hold even top tier with more members.

Hence the question: is there any value for the Star Alliance to recognize those multiple partner high value frequent flyers?

When I saw the thread title, I thought you were suggesting a revenue-based (unpublished) *A tier above *Gold, sort of like GS and PPS being recognized across the alliance. Remember that 1Ks aren't necessarily high rollers as a lot of them could become 1K by flying 100K miles on cheap fares.

Or American Express Black Cards give *A Gold status instantly on several *A carriers too.

For several years. Most Black Card holders get immediate upper level status in USAirways, Contintental and Delta (yes I know DL is another alliance). But with the annual fees you pay for the card, you can walk right into the upper tiers and fly only 0 miles and zero segments a year!

IIRC DL reduced what they give to Centurion cardholders from PM to GM. Also, my understanding is that you can basically buy status on US anyway, and for lots less than the annual card fee.
