Booked a great points and cash offer for the St. Regis Park City this December. Wondering the best option for transportation and any other must do's in the city.

The hotel is offering a shared van ride for $47.80/person/way, or rent a car and vallet for $25/day. The shared van may be best since we are arriving at night and not familiar with the roads, but it would be nice to drive to the Olympic Park for part of the day. The hotel does offer a shuttle to downtown Park City. They also have a same day free lift ticket with boarding pass.

Any other tips would be appreciated. Will only be in town for the weekend.

    Thanks!

Wasn't there a post on TOBB about this place by someone all upset they didn't lay out the red carpet for her or grovel at her feet? I remember the classic line was something along the lines of "clearly this is a hotel for the 99%". The line went over like a rain at an outdoor wedding.

    Sorry about derailing your thread.

Airport shuttles booked independently of your hotel should be about $40pp each way. A few of the companies are All Resort Express, Park City Transportation, and Xpress 4 Less. The hotel would probably just be booking you on All Resort Express. You say you arrive at night - keep in mind the lift ticket is only available for the date of arrival and you need to preregister at http://www.visitparkcity.com/quickstart/?quickstartstep=1. Ski rental shops sell lift tickets at a decent discount as well.

There's a free trolley in addition to your hotel shuttle that picks up right outside of the St. Regis that will take you to downtown Park City and then you can catch another trolley over to the Olympic center. The roads are very easy and well signed if you do decide to rent a car, and the roads are usually pretty clear unless it's actively snowing at the time. I can't remember if you can park in the Deer Valley parking lot overnight, but that may be an option to save the $25/night. If you really want to pinch pennies, there's a bus between SLC and Park City on the weekdays for $5.50 each way, but I doubt you'd be too interested in that if you're staying at the St. Regis ;).

If you're a skier, you'll be happy to know that it has been snowing the past 3 days here in Utah, so hopefully you'll have some good snow when you visit.
