St. Patrick's Day is for everyone!
March 17 is a day of Celtic music, green beer, leprechauns and all things Irish, across the globe, and here in Vancouver, there’s no shortage of fun things to do on St. Patrick’s day. This week we’ll be looking at what’s going on in Vancouver that celebrate all things Irish.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a Vancouver favorite and it draws in crowds of around 300,00o people, with 2000 participating. This year it’s being held on March 20, 2011 and will start at Howe and Drake Streets and then moves north along Howe Street to Georgia Street, and then turning right on Georgia and ends at Georgia and Granville Streets.
If you’re in Vancouver over the weekend, check out the Celtic Market. Granville Street, between Smithe and Georgia will be shut down on March 19 and 20th for the annual Celtic Market and street festival. Here you can enjoy live music and other entertainment. The market will be open from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM on the Saturday and 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Sunday.
