SIA And SilkAir Partner CAG To Boost Singapore Tourism

    19 September 2011
Singapore Airlines and SilkAir have partnered Changi Airport Group (CAG) to offer even more value-packed holiday deals that show off the best of Singapore.

Under the global tie-up, customers of Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will be able to enjoy attractive hotel rates with Singapore Stopover Holiday packages, priced from as low as S$60*.
    ...

At S$60, these packages offer excellent value for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir customers especially when bundled with complimentary transfers between hotels and the airport, unlimited rides on the SIA Hop-on Bus, and complimentary admission to eight key attractions: Sentosa Island Resort, National Orchid Garden, Singapore River Bumboat Tour, Jurong BirdPark, Singapore Zoo, Chinatown Heritage Centre, The Battle Box at Fort Canning and Marina Bay Golf driving range; all worth at least S$133.

    * Per person on twin-share basis for the first night. Prices may differ slightly for customers from different countries; for more details, customers can enquire with their local Singapore Airlines or SilkAir office or appointed travel agents.

In addition, customers can enjoy a host of privileges and discounts on dining, shopping, lifestyle, transport and other activities simply by presenting their Singapore Airlines or SilkAir boarding pass, under the Boarding Pass Privileges programme.
    ...

These rates are valid for Singapore Stopover Holiday bookings to 28 March 2012. Travel is to be completed by 31 March 2012. For more details or to book Singapore Stopover Holiday packages online, Singapore Airlines and SilkAir customers can visit singaporeair.com.

These packages generally include tourist or mid-range hotels scattered over the city, nothing fancy. The tour bus (which sometimes is free with a SQ boarding pass) and admissions sound good for someone spending a few days in Singapore for the first time.

At S$60, this is a very excellent value, especially since some of the attractions included, like the Singapore Zoo, is world class. I wonder what hotels can be had for S$60?

Remember this is PER PERSON for a double room, so $120 per night plus taxes. You would get a small tourist-class hotel in a not so great location. It might not be such a great price compared to priceline or other offers.

I don't know about Priceline prices but actually the locations for the cheapest hotels isn't that bad. Ibis Bencoolen is within walking distance to Bugis MRT and Hotel Royal is on several bus lines that will take you to Orchard Road in 5 minutes.
