Get your cameras ready - SQ new A380 service to Los Angeles arrives on Friday, July 1st at 1:30p (scheduled) from SIN after a stop at Narita.

It is scheduled to depart at 3:45pm and arrive two days later at 3:05 AM after a stop at NRT.

Heres hoping that we will see award space open up in C with the addition of 12 seats over the 747 and 28 more seat when the new all business upper deck configuration enters service on the route in the future.

If this is the new schedule, 3:05 is a horrible arrival time into SIN although leaving about two hours later, say 11:45 am in the reverse direction would be convenient, although it would mean a late arrival into NRT. I wonder why the schedule was changed so much from the 747 route.

03:05 am arrival might be horrible if SIN is your final destination, but it offers somewhat better connecting times to regional cities like CGK, BKK, DPS, now that there is no more SQ5 (29).

I guess taking 66 extra people is worth the 2 hour extra layover in NRT..

    How was your trip? :)
No preferred seat for me. Window would be nice.. But yes, I prefer the larger cabin section rather than the front small cabin.

In the picture, C doesn't seem to have much bin space, only over the window seats.

Does it really stop for three hours in NRT? That seems like such a waste of time for passengers as well as for an expensive aircraft. I wonder whether gate fees depend on how long the gate (or remote stand, ick) is occupied. At least NRT has some good lounges (plural).

Trip was great. I ended up in 17K and liked the extra width of the foot area. Service was very good. Maybe 1/2 full load. Both A380's were at NRT at the same time (SQ11 going one way, SQ12 going the other). I'll make a TR when i get some more time. P1000379_sized.JPG
