Spirit Airlines, which combines cheap fares with more fees than competitors charge, plans to expand again at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport — the hometown airport of American Airlines.
Spiit also plans to serve the nation’s capital from Baltimore-Washington International Airport and to leave Washington’s Reagan National Airport in September.

Spirit said Tuesday that it will add daily nonstop flights between DFW Airport and Baltimore and Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport in September. It will start flights to Los Angeles and Oakland, Calif., next April. Spirit is seeking government approval for flights to Cancun, Mexico, as well.
All of that would push Spirit to 20 destinations from DFW, where it began service just over a year ago. Dallas will be the airline’s second-largest operation behind Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
