    Can't get to SPG.com, starwood.com, sheraton.com, westin.com, etc. - all unresponsive.

DNS is fine, other websites are fine. Hope it's transient - I'm trying to plan my calendar for October.

Edit: Looks like it's starwood's network at the connection to Level3, their provider:

A bit of speculation on TOBB suggests that the site was hacked since this apparently was an unplanned outage and has been so long. I wonder when we should start worrying about passwords and credit card numbers.

BTW, Spin the Wheel came back a while ago. NOW might be a good time to play.

Does anyone remember something like this happening in the past, even to another hotel chain. I'm a bit surprised that a lurker or some other official rep hasn't commented by now, even if only to say that they're working on it and suggesting what can be done if one needs to make a reservation. For example, will Plat Concierge phone hotels today to make bookings for the near future or if there's some sense of urgency such as a special event?

Is the conference block website (I forget what it's called)able to make Starwood bookings?

I assume that most third party sites are OK and able to confirm reservations, but at some point one worries about inventory not having been updated.

Based on a very small sample, email confirmations are coming much more slowly than usual.

Our apologies for any inconvenience, but this is a known issue and a ticket has been opened for it.

I was told that this was fixed last week. If you are experiencing the problem still, I would suggest clearing your cache (temporary files) (http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache) AND cookies (http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cookies), then log out of your Starwood Preferred Guest account online (if you are logged in), then close ALL browser windows before trying again. Please note that clearing cookies may also remove any stored passwords in the browser.

Also note that cache and cookies are 2 different things. The cache memory is what remembers old content for faster page loading and may cause errors after updates. Cookies are mostly only meant for tracking during the current session. Both can still remember old errors that may have existed in the browser.

If the problem persists after this, send me your SPG account number and I'll have someone take a look.

Thanks, William....I was a little reluctant to delete all cookies and clear cache's because that impacts all accounts (I have one at Hilton too!) and didn't want to have to reenter all of the information on my personal computer again.

Despite that, all data on past stays appeared on my account this morning (it wasn't there when I checked last night).
