SPG App now updated with SPG Keyless on App Store and Google Play.

Only a few properties support it at the moment.

Several recent properties in which I have stayed have had the locks changed in preparation but did not have the capability enabled.

Does this cause the upgrade to be de facto not available if it isn't available at the time of the auto-check-in, but would have been available at the time of hotel arrival had one gone to the front desk?

No, we will even notify you via the App if you received an upgrade.

Thank you. I suppose I should re-state my query. Say the hotel assigns the room at 2:00 PM. I arrive at the hotel at 4:00 PM. A suite becomes available at 3:00 PM. Does the hotel proactively change the room at that point (i.e., deactivating my access to first room), or is the check-in complete at 2:00 PM?

No. If you want to make an inquiry about possible room upgrades after you are checked in, you'll have to drop by the front desk.

As most of us expect anyway, even though magic would be nice.

I used the Keyless app this past weekend at the Element Times Square and it was great. I had no problems using the app at any time. I got a notification the day prior advising that I could register using Keyless. The next morning at 10am I had a notification that my room was ready. I knew exactly what room type I had, what floor it was on and that I had been upgraded (better view). Day of departure I got an email with my bill and simply left at the time of checkout (late checkout was confirmed when I'd checked in on app.)

This is a great feature and I can't wait until its rolled out to more hotels.
