I've noticed lately that it doesn't seem to matter what I say when I check in at the front desk about opting for the Green option. If I don't hang the Green card outside the door AND make sure I do it early enough, I don't get the little card that I trade in at the front desk for points on checkout. Now this latest Four Points stay I put the thing outside my door when I checked in around 7pm. By 9 or 10pm I had my card. Odd I thought. So when I was leaving the room this morning I knocked the card off the door and figured it didn't matter and didn't put it back on. So when I get back to the room tonight the room has been made up, new towels, etc. Now I assume that's not supposed to happen. I assume the maids are supposed to look at some master list. But at least in this case they didn't. So with SPG hotels (or is it the service staff?) for some reason seemingly pushing to reduce the number of people opting for/getting Green bonuses successfully, are they screwing themselves/the hotel somehow?
