I've been wanting to visit the Intrepid for years and never got around to it. A tour of the Concorde is enough of a reason to visit but with the space shuttle Enterprise finding it's new home there, how could you not want to check it out.

In November 2011 NASA transferred the title of space shuttle Enterprise to the Intrepid Museum. In the spring of 2012 the shuttle will be flown from DC to JFK airport by ferry-flight aboard a 747 NASA Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. It will then be transported by barge during the summer to the Intrepid.
The Enterprise will be placed on the Intrepid's flight deck under a protective covering. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the shuttle while visiting the Intrepid.

I'm definitely looking forward to visting the Interpid to see the Concorde and Enterprise in the near future!

You can also see a Concorde and the 707 version of Air Force One at the air museum near SEA, there's a mock up of the shuttle on display at Huntsville.

Hmm...looks like something to do when I'm in NYC next month! :)

I find it interesting they have an Au Bon Pain Cafe onboard...

You can see the Concorde but the shuttle won't be on the Intrepid until the summer.

Right, there will always be the opportunity to go to NYC. :) I've seen the Concorde at Duxford here in the UK...pretty cool.

I got to go on the Concorde as a kid. My father worked for Air France so we got to check it out. Too bad we didn't get on a flight!

I got to go on the Concorde as an adult, LHR — JFK. Had a splitting headache the whole way.

That's a different Shuttle, though. This thread is about the Enterprise that's moving from the A&S Museum at IAD to NYC.

I have seen the Enterprise in the museum. I think I'll go visit the two shuttles I have seen launch - Discovery and Endeavor. And eventually I'll see Atlantis in Florida... But no concrete plans for an Intrepid visit.

the enterprise will be flown out of IAD though;):)

I have a hunch that it will be the 47 that brings in discovery

Stinks about the headache; I hope it was a good experience otherwise!

Was the headache a result of the flight? I wish I could've flown one time on the Concorde!

Not sure (it was a long time ago). I don't think I understood about the need to keep oneself hydrated at the time.

I very much regret that I didn't spend miles or $$ on flying on the Concorde while it was still operating. And I wonder what my chances are of over flying at supersonic speed.

Especially since it cost me (I think) about $300! (As an air courier, back in the day).

Just visited the museum of flight on the One World Mega Do. We were able to board the Concorde and Air Force One which anyone is able to do when visiting. We were given special permission to board the very first 747 which has only flown for testing purposes. The volunteer checking our tickets was an employee for Boeing and was on the test flights and able to provide us with very interesting information.

I always wanted to take the special deal that was offered for a while of Concorde in one direction TATL and QE2 in the other. Somehow the QE2 dates never quite worked out and I had always assumed that I would be able to do it next year....There were also deals of taking the Concorde in it's less popular direction and regular BA business or FC the other way, but I had been holding out to do the QE2 also.
