TORONTO, Jan. 31, 2013 /CNW/ - Ready for takeoff? Air Canada rouge recruitment starts today for the first 150 flight attendants for Canada's new stylishly affordable leisure airline based at Toronto's Pearson Airport.

The airline's first inflight recruitment campaign is targeted to people who will be based in Toronto and the GTA and ideally have customer service/ hospitality experience, excellent language skills and a passion for travel. The inaugural team of flight attendants will have the unique opportunity to help shape Air Canada rouge from the ground up as planning continues and service to Europe and the Caribbean starts on July 1, 2013.

"Our in-flight crews will be the heart of Air Canada rouge. Every day of our customers' vacation is treasured so we want to give them a safe, enjoyable and memorable start and end to their holiday," said Michael Friisdahl, President and CEO of Air Canada rouge. 'We're looking for fun, dynamic, likeminded (and styled) people to offer warm, welcoming service. And you can do all of this all while travelling with close friends…your fellow flight attendants."

Interested? For a complete description of the ideal attributes and minimum requirements, Air Canada rouge invites candidates to visit www.aircanadarouge.com, a recruitment site that also offers links to more information about the new leisure airline.

"Whether welcoming people onboard, helping with carryon bags, offering food and drinks, sharing flight information, helping with entertainment systems or ensuring a safe and secure flight, our cabin crew will largely define Air Canada rouge. And where does it all start? With hiring people who truly enjoy engaging with travelers of all ages and interests," he said.
Those interested in becoming one of the inaugural 150 flight attendants, can send their résumés to: resumes@aircanadarouge.com. Telephone interviews will be arranged for candidates who meet the requirements and, pending a successful phone interview, candidates will be invited to in-person interviews in Toronto on February 23 and 24, 2013.
