I can't see my Status Points right now. Did MP listen to my suggestion and get rid of them... or is the system down? [IMG]

Intentionally removed, at least for now.

So that was that feeling of pain that I felt in the force a little while ago.[IMG]

I'm rather happy to see them gone. I'm more concerned about the quality of the posts rather than on how often someone manages to hit the "post" buttonn.

The status points haven't gone away, just not displayed.

Just need to click on your user link and a window will pop up and display the number of status points (and other info, like number of posts).

It's fine with me, since they finally gave me the title I requested.[IMG]

I don't mind a bit. It's nice to have everyone feel like they are part of the process and not behind some huge numbers.

Not missed by me. Would vote for leaving them where they (now) are....those who are interested could click through and see them, otherwise.....

Although I haven't done an "official" count, seems as if there are more posts in the "like me"' "countdown" and other non-informational posts than are in threads that actually provide usable and/or intelligent info on travel.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but if one considers Randy's opening statement for MP content,
"The first order of business is for topic experts to begin creating valuable and informative threads in their forums of interest...."

  11. I ve used a lot of sites with different point systems. i think it was a useful move before roll-out. Now people would be largely intimidated by that. Also though, it makes someone click on people profile and learn possibly more about them.

We've already assimilated the NW people. The CO people, on the other hand, could have a problem with it.

I agree. They're there, but they no longer have the same level of prominence.

Will people still chase them? Of course. Will as many and will they chase them to the same degree? Probably not.

Certainly a worthwhile experiment at the least.

I'm so glad those things have disappeared from view. No longer credible when you can manipulated them. I saw somebody get a few thousand Likes by doing squat. It is like cheating on golf... what is the point? Sure, I'd like the ads to go away for me, but I'd rather be liked (or disliked) honestly than otherwise.

    Gargoyle,
You have been allowed to think that the NW people have been assimilated. However, the NW people have used an anti-Borg anti-Delta shield. For ex, you still say NW when arriving at the MNL airport to the taxi driver. [IMG]

yeah, and I was close to disclosing a tiny bit of the old NW code to you and then you posted yea-hah or whatever, not a dignified thing to say when upgraded, so I had second thoughts. Perhaps you can still convince me.....
