I noticed this a couple of days ago and another Ipad user confirmed she could not see them either. We are not using the MP App just the regular MP through Safari.

I thought it was an iPad problem (like no flash, etc), but I've noticed this too

It worked fine last week. I thought perhaps my upgrade to version 5 might have caused it.

They are missing on my work IE also.... I get the X image for each smiley in the drop down and when I select one the Java script enters a number into the text area.

When I win one of Randy's new iPads, I will be able to see if the problem exists. ;) :D

Joking aside, from reading MP and TOBB, it appears there are certain browsing issues and/or dysfunctional features tied specifically to iPad users though.

ETA: I recall there were some funky characters in either the Community Lounge or contest poast thread (or maybe both). During investigation, those who made that happen all confessed they were on iPad (and/or maybe some other mobile devices).

I "think" the Evil Fruit is always at fault for these irregularities. Still, I don't mind getting a New iPad from Randy! :p

I'd like to note that I'm still seeing X's in IE 8 and on the iPad

Smilies represent uncontrolled joy. In the iApple universe, all joy needs to emanate from the Mac universe, and unregulated external joy needs to be blocked. If you have an iPad, it completes your lif; nothing else is needed.

I think it's a iPad issue rather than MP in that if I try to post a quick reply on FT, I have the same problem, although clicking go advanced on FT using Safari on an iPad2 allows me to click on their smilies.
