I received the following via email and would like to post here to raise awareness. Doubling your gift is a nice bonus opportunity!

They claim $250 USD covers the basic surgery cost per child so for each multiple of that you change two lives in a fundamental and lifelong way. If you donate $1,000 or more you will be a member of the "Premier Circle" which provides some small recognition and things like a dinner invite at a major city near you, etc.

    Dear {Redacted},
I recently had the opportunity to present our new Virtual Cleft Surgery Simulator to a group of our major supporters. They had the chance to test it for themselves and were as excited as I was about how it will revolutionize cleft surgery training and ultimately help more children in need.
At the end of the presentation, they surprised me with incredible news: they want to challenge us with an Unlimited Double Match Grant!
From now until June 7, your gift can have double the impact.
You can help us help twice as many children with cleft.
Please consider contributing a gift today. A donation of any amount is eligible and will help us make the most of this exciting challenge — providing even more free cleft surgeries and changing lives!

    Thank you for your support!

They want to list your name somewhere? Or are you referring to supplying information to make the financial transaction?

I'm sorry that's not working out for you. :(

Not to be a jerk, I'm just really curious; how would you make an anonymous financial donation other than via cash? Are you thinking something like Bitcoin?

    You jerk! :D
I was just going to go through an anonymous Paypal account.
I suppose I could just lie on the form, but I don't want to lie.

It's OK though perhaps an impossibility now. Between the NSA and a number of foreign powers anonymity is likely something for the history books.
