"Registration is open from 6-7PM at the host hotel (Ritz-Carlton Toronto or Toronto Marriott Downtown)"

Are both hotels being used? Does one have a choice?

Marriott is still deciding which will be the host hotel, so we're waiting on that decision. They indicated it will be one of these two hotels.

Even we would like to know, but Marriott has not made the host hotel decision yet, only indicating that it will be one of these two properties. I've stayed at both in recent months and rates are expensive in Toronto, so hopefully we'll have a great deal and if not, then we'll search for other properties nearby that meet our own personal budgets.

Yea, we'll be looking for an idea for the Tuesday night meetup for those of us coming in early. I love Toronto so would like to take in a play, etc.

Thanks for the response. I know both hotels are expensive and was wondering what discounts were given. There are indeed alternative accomodations nearby.

Just trying to put up the listings. Toronto is the third largest theatre city in the world, so lots of options - will definitely list the major theater and entertainment companies!

Does that mean that Marriott will not require us to stay at the host hotel in order to get their perks for the MegaDo?

If you want to be a part of the promo, it usually involves booking the host hotels. They way it stands now, both hotels will be available for the group. More details to follow

    Thanks, Tommy.

I should clarify, I also meant the hosted items such as the meals, receptions, etc.

There's no way we'd make people pay that kind of money. ;)

We're making the RC available for those who want to pay something a little bit nicer, but there will be an option under 200CAD a night. There's also a Courtyard downtown at 120CAD a night.

Please stay tuned and let Marriott work their magic, but trust me, I won't make people pay 300 dollars

Great theatre town. Here’s what’s going on at this point at the more interesting theatre companies in town. Not sure what will be playing at the big Broadway-sized houses then. I’m sure a Marriott concierge at whatever hotel you end up with can fill in the holes I don’t cover below.

Venus in Fur, which was on Broadway last year, in a different production at a terrific small theatre, with several food and drink options nearby, The Berkeley Street Theatre: https://www.canadianstage.com/Onlin...4&sessionlanguage=&SessionSecurity::linkName=

    Yukon Style https://www.canadianstage.com/Onlin...D21-4BC95933A939,i6dly7rqSm4dregC81jlgEoSomQ=

The Tarragon Theatre is also a terrific theatre company in Toronto. A little more isolated location, but easy to get to. The play they’ll have on will be The Double http://tarragontheatre.com/season/1314/the-double/

As of this moment, seems The Factory Theatre will be dark while you’re all there: http://www.factorytheatre.ca/201314-season/201314-subscription-season/

Same seems to be true at Theatre Passe Muraille: http://www.passemuraille.on.ca/announcing-our-201314-season/

    And also at Soulpepper: http://www.soulpepper.ca/calendar.aspx

Shame about these last 3 as there have been some very fun and interesting shows there.

Lots of terrific restaurants as well.

Les Mis sounds great if anyone is interested in going with us. Any recommendations for great/unique dining experiences?

try to resist the urge to steal a loaf of bread, no matter how hungry the family is.

Instead, this relatively unknown version of "on my own" should tide you over:
