If you were told that you could buy an identical service for either €100 or €112 which would you choose? The cheaper one, right?
But what if you're told the price is €100; it appeals to you and you go through the booking process only to find out at the last minute the cost is actually €112.
Annoying yes, maybe even unfair, but chances are you'll have been drawn in by the cheaper initial price and given you are now just about to pay, you'll fork out the extra euros so that you don't have to start elsewhere all over again.
This is what happens when you book a flight with Ryanair or Aer Lingus. It's the handling fee for processing your payment and costs €12 return with both. And it is not included in the initial price.
