What can I do to get this to work? I'm going to Germany soon and want to call my husband on his Droid for free using wifi only. He wants to me too. But Verizon Wireless is blocking it for both my phone and his Droid. We turned off the 3G for wifi only as a test. I wasn't able to connect with his phone.

Does this mean no free calling on my Droid overseas using Skype?

Verizon deliberately crippled Skype on their Androids over wifi. This has been an issue for over a year now (check phone forums). Best workaround is to download the full Skype from the market & also get the program that will stop Skype operation for use when you're done.

I still use Skype for my laptop, but I've moved to Ooma on my Android.

Check out Tango http://tango.me/ as an alternative. Tango supports voice and video calls over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi. There are clients available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, in addition to Android 2.1 and later.
