Am hoping to redeem sky miles for a one way award on Air France from FCO-CDG. Is this possible? If so, any tips on how to do it?

Any one way award ticket with DL miles will cost the same number of miles as the RT.

Also, there is a substantial fee assessed for awards originating in Europe. Skymiles are best redeemed for travel originating in the US.

Or for KE flights if originating in the EU, as DL doesn't collect YQ on them. Flew FRA-ICN-MEL on a DL award on KE, and no YQ was collected for that portion, just the return SYD-KUL-LHR on MH and the LHR-AMS-FRA flights to close one end of the double open jaw.

Good to know. What were the total fees?

About $700, of which $313 was MH YQ and $99 was KL YQ (coded as YR) for LHR-AMS-FRA. The rest were legitimate taxes and fees charged by airports or governments.
