Singapore award availability not displaying on United.com?

    Hey Folks,

First, apologies if this has already been addressed, but I didn't seem to run into the topic.

Has anyone else had difficulty finding availability on ANY flights on Singapore Airlines when looking to use United miles on United.com? I am trying to book in inter-Asia connection from Koh Samui (USM) to Bali (DPS) and one week ago saw plenty availability on connecting Thai and Singapore Airlines flights. Now, I only see flights that are on Thai and Qatar, which would require a 15 hour overnight in Bangkok, which of course I would like to avoid.

Any news about the general availability of Singapore awards through United? Perhaps this is an artifact of the new upgraded reservation system that initially created a first class free for all? Let me know if you all have any insight or ideas.

    Cheers!

Yeah, there was an uh-oh a week-ish ago when SQ changed their res system. For now, SQ availability is naught on United.

Short version: you missed where ALL classes were all available.

Don't know the timeline it'll be fixed in, but you could check on another *A carrier for availability and then call in and plead your case.

Regional SQ availability is still pretty good but .bomb is no longer showing any SQ availability so you'll need to call in. Of course you'll likely be held to the booking fee if applicable.

But can I ask, why are there less options (not just SQ) but others....while NH and AC are showing it as being available?

Because UA's blocking SQ availability, of course.

In fact, I was looking to see if booking with award miles through SQ, AC, or NH would be better for my itinerary (since I can transfer MR points to do that, but can't xfer them to UA).

Wouldn't this just be one of those situations that partner availability will be less than for their own programs? I am pretty sure that SQ gives their own KF folks more space, as do NH and CX than what they release to partners.

Sq does, but coach and regional business is usually available, but now there's absolutely nothing available, so definitely 100% blocked

I don't know if CX or NH blocks, but I don't think so

    I was wondering that too.

For example, I have two segments to book: SIN-SGN on 1/20 (or so) on SQ and SGN-NRT on 1/23 (or so) on TG/NH.

I see some NH availability, but no SQ. I'll probably fly QR/NH on the latter, just looks too fun, but I hate to pass up a TK opportunity here.

Not sure, there are some options where Air Canada's Aeroplan is showing more OZ, NH options but not on UA.......

I can confirm that if you call in, SQ's available.

CA is too, but that seems, well, frought. I don't think my CA res stuck.

I just hope it clears up. I need to book our return trip and nothing is really working out at saver levels and the standard, leaves a lot to be desired.

What's the best place to look for SQ availability since it's not showing up on United's website? I'm looking for seats in Y.

Am I wrong that this was back and now it is now showing any more, or did it never come back?

As I understand it, the ANA tool has a "hard block" on all premium SQ awards. Y awards should still show. Since United and ANA don't show SQ premium awards (what little might exist), where is the next best place to search for this?

I noticed this too (The SQ coming & going) Some days I checked and I saw SQ flights (Eco only though) Today as I was thinking of some connecting flights for a stopover from BKK, SQ is totally gone.

i was going to book our return trips from SG back to NYC, wife said no to Premium cabins, on Y but all gone. Still weren't the most ideal times, but at least I know the flight is a good one. I wonder what is going on that it keeps coming and going. Also, trying to see if any seats on UA HKG-EWR in Y will open up. It isn't worth paying C prices for a Y seat.
