SINGAPORE Airlines has lodged one of the biggest aircraft orders in its history to become the launch customer for the stretch 787-10 version of Boeing's Dreamliner as part of a $US17 billion order split between the major manufacturers.
The firm order for 30 787-10Xs by the blue-chip airline, whose aircraft purchases are watched keenly by other carriers, provides impetus for the 787-10 program which has still to be officially launched by Boeing.
