The T2 renovations of the lounge are now well under way. At this stage the Business Class section is blocked off and everyone is being funnelled into the old F lounge. It is a zoo! They have set up more coffee machines and food to cope but in rush hour (now 8.40am) it is noisy, crowded and chaotic.

I haven't enough time now, but next time may use the SATS lounge instead.

Why don't you use T3 lounge? IMHO, it's not too bad to catch a flight from T2 while lounging at T3.

That's a good point! I hadn't even considered it. I hadn't originally planned to get to Changi as early as I did and went mindlessly into T2 as that's where I was heading from! Still...lessons learned!

If everyone in the T2 lounge is being sent to the FC side, do they still have the champagne bar open? That could make it worthwhile for those who otherwise would be on the C/J side to stay here.

Side point, have you swung through T1 recently to see how works are progressing there? Love to know how it's going before my next visit.

Might not be any better since the SATS lounge is also a zoo in the mornings. Also as of last week, it still doesn't have a working toilet. It is apparently under some sort of renovation, which has been going on since March, but the completion date keeps getting pushed back.

AFAIK the bar is closed until about 1pm. I didn't look/see/try to be honest!

I was in there last week (as a C pax), during dinner. They had Johnny Walker Blue, which I am pretty sure is an F lounge drink, and Duval Leroy (the Brut NV, as I recall). Wasn't too awful, though there were a fair amount of pax in there.

I visited the newly-opened renovated lounge this morning. It definitely looked nicer, I thought it looked a bit similar to SKL HKG.

There is a huge dining area, similar in style to the T3 SKL. The bar is gone and so is the smoking room. There were lots of choices for food (seemingly more choices than my last visit to T3 SKL IIRC), standard drinks and champagne also. The champagne was self serve, IIRC this was on request in T3 SKL the last time I went there. Also a few lounge dragons were pushing trolleys around the lounge, turned out it was Laksa, first time I've seen them doing this. I had one, it was good but a bit too spicy for me.

Overall, it is a good lounge, certainly a step up from the old lounge, although still couldn't beat the T3 SKL. It felt a bit cramped with rows and rows of chairs and the toilet was quite small (there was a queue to use the facilities) and there were not enough newspapers to go around, etc. Maybe after the F section re-opens, it will be less busier and become a nicer place.

Unfortunately no, I was too shy since the lounge was fairly busy. However, I will be back in two weeks' time in a suppposedly less busy time, so I will try to take some pics then if anyone haven't taken them by that time.

The F side of T2 lounge will be closed for a couple of months.

I was in the new SKL T2 again last week in the afternoon, a somewhat less busy time for the lounge. Tons of food options (in fact I thought it was more than the offerings in the SKL T3). I suspect this is due to the lounge temporarily also housing F and LPP/TPP pax. There was a lounge dragon pushing a trolley again around the lounge, this time offering scones and bread pudding along with coffee and tea.

I do hope they don't downgrade the F&B in the C side once the F side re-opens. But SQ being SQ, I have a hunch that they will.

Not really loving the new lounge but it's growing on me, definitely a big step up from the old lounge.

Thanks cennas for the pictures- looks quite Lufthansa-esque in colour schemes.

    You're welcome! :)

The new lounge is also very similar in design to the newer SKL lounges: SIN T3, BKK, HKG.

Well, I will miss feeling like I am in some low limit casino betting room in 1970s Las Vegas, however if the lounge is like BKK it is great (I really like the SKL at BKK).

I'm not a fan of the SQ lounge at HKG. Maybe part is the lack of windows, but it seems so dark and colorless, in need of some decoration or special aspects.

IME the T2 FC section had better food than T3 FC (not including TPR, which I think is fabulous with the sitdown restaurant menu). However, this might reflect the time of my visits and isn't based on many observations.

The aquarium is gone too. I wonder what happened to the little fishies? :p
