They're already bringing in a new coffee. Not that I particularly care.

How about a petition to put an espresso machine into every F galley? (yes, I know some international config aircraft have it)

Can we have a petition to ban petition threads?

No. I expect it will be some other form of smelly brown water than I have no desire to ingest. :p

They held taste-tests in-flight recently to compare the flavors in the air versus on the ground which is apparently where the last choice fell apart. Of course, if your tastes differ from the limited set of folks they surveyed then you're still screwed but they aren't just ignoring the problem.

Given that I don't like most Starbucks roasts on the ground and the rest of the world does, I don't have great hopes to end up with good (for me) tasting coffee.

Starbucks is for the masses, people who have good taste would never think of drinking Starbucks. The words "good taste" and the word "Starbucks" should not even be used in the same sentence.:p

Am I one of the few in this country that never really got the dramatic appeal of Starbucks ? I am always amazed when going through LAS D area at the long lines snakeing around up to the Starbucks kiosk (or any airport).

I didn't know Starbucks sells coffee. I thought they sell high priced liquid candy bars and some burnt and bitter brown water drinks.

There are few of us already in this thread. Once you taste a good coffee, you will never be able to drink what Starbucks has to offer.

They specifically burn they coffee to mask poor quality beans and make an uniform taste.

I do want to say something in defense of Starbucks- they are incredibly good at marketing, and I understand they are an excellent place to work, employees are treated very well. Basically, IMHO it is a good company selling a horrid product.

"Employees are treated very well", if that were the case they would not need a "tip" jar out for begging.

I use my Starbucks card, of course, so the tip jar is ignored. Which is reloaded with a mileage-earning credit card. And my wife has a Sbux card registered to my account to pool "earnings".

But yes, from what I have seen, Starbucks does has quite decent hourly wages and benefits.

I was given a $10.00 Starbucks gift card, and there it sits in my desk draw, and there it will stay, I will NOT compromise my principles:D
