Share your FlightMemory.com stats on this thread!

Which MilePointer has circumnavigated the world the most?

    Who's closed to the sun?

Have any MilePointers spent more than a year in the air?

Find out the answers to those questions and so many more as this thread grows!

I prefer OpenFlights.org to FlightMemory.com because you can zoom in and show more stats, but have both... have a look:

    http://www.openflights.org/user/JerseyVics

    http://my.flightmemory.com/jerseyvics

interestingly enough the stats differ from site to site...

    Open Flights Distance
    Total flown257394 mi
    Around the world10.34x
    To the Moon1.078x
    To Mars0.0074x

    Flight Memory Distances
    In Miles231,581
    In Kilometer372,695
    Earth Circumnavigation 9.30 time(s)
    Distance to the Moon0.970 time(s)
    Distance to the Sun0.0025 time(s)

one of my favorite though is BA97 Calendar because you can actually see who you may be flying with on the same flight:

I like 'em both and use both. I like the logos that show on BA97 but haven't updated it in ages.

Those sites are kind of neat. I never signed up for them and can't imagine how hard it would be to try and recreate all of the historical information (almost 30 years since I joined the old Eastern and DL FF programs) to make things interesting.

I am for openflight also and here are my stats:

Unfortunately, I only started updating it last year so only 2010 data and forward are accurate. I added some from previous years from memory.

FlightMemory and Openflights are both good. Each have their pros and cons.

You are truly a man of the skies!
Is this mostly business or pleasure flights, if you don't mind me asking?

    Flight Memory: http://my.flightmemory.com/redtape
    Hours: 2787.37
    Days: 116.2
    Weeks: 16.6
    Months: 3.87
    Years: 0.32
    Miles: 1,295,448
    Kms: 2,084,822
    Earth Circumnavigation: 52.02 times
To the Moon (Alice, To the MOON!): 5.424 times
    To the Sun: 0.0139 times

    Open Flights:http: http://www.openflights.org/user/RedTape
    Miles: 1,289,949
    Around the World 51.81 times
    To the Moon: 5.401 times
    To Mars: 0.0372 times

I think part of the difference is that in Flight Memory I enter segments separately (ie: SEA-GTF-HLN as SEA-GTF and GTF-HLN) as it is more accurate of actual miles flown) and Open flights I would enter it as SEA-HLN and in the remarks note the stop at GTF.

I'll add that this is complete (except for the two helicopter trips and the one time in a Cessna). I didn't step foot on a plane until I was nearly 18...and I've kept a log.

a lot of trips to Hawaii

flightmemory is in my signature. I'm at about 750,000+ lifetime which includes since I was about 3. Anything before that, and on Delta airlines (because they suck and couldn't give me my records) is missing :(
    @ about 600,000 lifetime with United :)

i also use both FM and OF.
not a single flight is missing for the past +20 years: before excel and FM/OP, there was still paper and pencil

I moved from FM to OF when it came available and never missed a thing. I love the BA97 stuff, though.
Since I did not want to feed data into multiple systems (am doing Dopplr and Tripit as well) I decided to hack a fast Perl script to convert the OF CSV exported data into something BA97 like. Note: I took the icons from bestflights.com.au for testing.

The script is quite small but the result is pretty nice. I added a horizontal bar to divide between past and future flights. I use the OF trip IDs to assign same colors to flights belonging to the same trip, even if there are nested segments. Unfortunately OF doesn't export the trip titles. A bit of data mangling has to be done, e.g. to map from 'Aeroflot' to SU to the airline logo but it's doable.
If there is much interested I am willing to share script or even hack a quick webinterface ('upload your CSV and receive a webpage'). In the end it may make more sense to extend OF directly, esp. since it's open source.
