They were thinking that the conventioners would drink so heavily that they'd fall off the stools quickly, opening a space for someone else. Why else does anyone go to a convention?

If they don't stand at the bar they'll fall from drinking too much.

Just ridiculous.... I hate to eat in a restaraunt alone at a table, I will alway eat at the bar. I suppose I should not say always, not tonight. [IMG]

I never understand why some places that are intended to hold large amounts of people have some portion or amenity that is minuscule. I see this often where the restroom facilities contain one stall and one urinal for an event of 200 people. [IMG]

So its like high priced parking meters to encourage turnover.

you should be female.... 200 men can go pee as fast as 20 females and the restrooms are usually one Mens / One Womens [IMG]

At the George R Brown convention center in Houston when there is a large conference of mostly women (ie:Mary Kay) the facilities people change almost all the mens rooms into temporary ladies rooms. This is done with signage, not physical changes to the facilities.

I've worked events at that facility, on and off, since it opened and caught myself almost walking into the 'wrong' room a few times. Attribute it to 'being focused on an important personal mission' and not paying attention to the signs. Oops!

Had to run, and I do mean RUN, to the other end of the building! Inconvenient and annoying at the time, of course, but I agree with the concept.
