Interesting article on how sequestration will negatively impact travelers...

"Up to 10 percent of the FAA’s 40,000 employees would be furloughed on any given day, “resulting in reduced air traffic control, longer delays and economic losses for air transportation, tourism and the economy as a whole,“ they said.

Similar staff reductions at the Transportation Security Administration would lead to longer, slower lines at airport security checkpoints as well.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a letter to a Senate committee that the result of sequestration “will be felt across the country, as the volume of travel must be decreased.“ And Marion Blakey, CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association, said in a statement that “Massive travel delays and disruptions during the summer travel season, slowed certifications and safety approvals and long-term delays to delivery of critical Next Generation Air Transportation System components will slam the brakes on economic growth.“
