Reports this morning confirm that the Malian international and national airports are closed due the coup d'etat yesterday. The Air France flight was sent back to Paris mid flight last night and all Air Kenya flights were rerouted to Dakar. At the moment, all flights in and out of the country have been canceled. I've heard accounts of people showing up at the airport, realising their flight has been canceled, and then having no transport back into town as the curfew limits the taxi cabs available at night. Some have been able to find transport into Bamako after walking about 2 km to a main road. Hoping the situation will settle down soon and peace will prevail.
