Thanks to his recent indictment on corruption charges, the senator's personal expenses are getting released for everyone's amusement. According to this article, one of his alleged bribes was in the form of ~650K AmEx MR points. Besides acquiring a paper trail, Sen. Menendez also did not get a good value out of his points. He used the "Pay With Points" option for staying at the PH Paris-Vendôme. The article recommends that other hapless politicians accept their bribes in cash.

When the points are free they have no value, easy come easy go...

Others go to Columbia for their release, and Secret Service Parties.

Community Organizers have no problem spending others peoples money...

If I Was a politician I Would just sell books to donors, and collect the royalties.

If the points were truly free, they would be a gift rather than bribe -- and the Senator would go unpunished. ;)

In late 2012 Right-wing media in the US accused Mr Menendez paying prostitutes for sex with prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.

The story collapsed after Mr Menendez's accusers recanted and US intelligence reportedly found indications that the story might have been planted by the Castro regime in an effort to smear one

This could be a birther story, by Trump, I Suspect someone does not like him..

Please lets get real here, we are talking about a politician. Truthfulness, honesty, and transparency are words that rarely fit in the same sentence with any politician.

Agreed, that's probably the main reason he's being singled out.

That's been done. And no matter how bad the book is, it's hard to prove an illicit motive let alone that the transaction amounted to a bribe.
