Is there a way to go about selling AMEX MR points? If so, how much could one get for 200K MR points?
No. And you technically cannot transfer points between accounts, so how would you go about completing the transaction?
Just cash them out for gift cards or buy some nice flights if you need to empty out your account.
By transfering from your own MR account to the airline/hotel account of the purchaser?
As stated above you couldn't push the points to the buyers Amex account. However after payment technically, shouldn't you be able to drop the points into one or more of the buyers MR compatible Frequent Flier/Guest accounts after adding those accounts to your MR account? I've dropped some MR into family/friends accounts this way.
It is against the TOS of most, if not all, mileage programs to sell points / miles. If you are caught, you risk losing all your points. Not a good thing.
If you think that the TOS of MR does not prohibit the sale, then just call MR and ask them the question.
Unless you are desperate to encounted the Spanish Inquisition, stay miles away from this idea. You can however technically cash them out for gift cards and then sell the gift cards. Though I wouldnt do that
This isn't what they asked though. You've been able to transfer to miles or hotel programs no matter the name for a long time. Even though it's technically not allowed, I'm sure it's pretty common.
