We just checked into the hotel a few hours ago and so far I am very impressed. We are here for four days helping our daughter return to college, and the suite upgrade we were given is fantastic. They have also included free breakfast every day for four people in the restaurant downstairs. We ate dinner there this evening and other than being a bit loud, the food and service were excellent and the prices were quite fair for a hotel. The location is very convenient and the city view is quite nice.

After staying at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago I am a bit jaded, but this may well end up near the top of the Hyatt list for me.

It's a great hotel. I actually liked the cheese in the food and wine amenity (and I am not a cheese fan). Good views are hard to come by, but I get enough of those living in Seattle. The breakfast menu is a little on the sweet side, but otherwise quite good. The Diamond breakfast benefit is by far among the more generous.

We had breakfast this morning. My daughter and her boyfriend joined us as they gave us breakfast for four complimentary. The breakfast was excellent and the portions were good. The pancake order included 5 huge pancakes that could have been a meal for three. This will definately be my hotel in Seattle from now on.

How does the Hyatt Olive and Eighth compare with the Grand Hyatt?

Grand is more "luxurious" with higher quality materials but is an "older" (relatively) property. I would say that the main difference (especially for Diamonds) is that the Grand has an operating GC (for breakfast and evening service) while the Olive 8 doesn't have a Club Lounge so breakfast is in the restaurant.
