    Hi all,

Need some help from some of you experts, or someone with an ExpertFlyer subscription.

Am booked on UA566 with my wife on Dec 29, on an A fare. Availability shows F5/A5. However, can't get a seat assignment. Does this point to overbooking? Or just blocking too many seats from the 8 available on the seatmap?

Thanks for your guidance and knowledge,

    GenevaFlyer

Highly unlikely that it is overbooked. Much more likely an issue with the seat maps.

I would try to call and request specific seat assignments.

    Hi GenevaFlyer.
Next time it would help us if you told us which specific flight, as UA566 has 3 flights per day (LAX-SFO, SFO-ORD, ORD-ATL).
So I checked all 3 for you on EF and they all have seats up front open on the maps (though this might not be reality of what is really available).
    Cheers,
    John

    Hi John,

Apologies for that ... didn't realize there was so much re-use of flight numbers. In my case, it is the ORD-ATL flight. The multi-segment issue could be behind the seatmap issue I'm sure.

    Thanks all for your help.

    Cheers,
