K I am going jfk to ago via slc
    On a 737 800
    Booked row 7 seat f and d
Hoping to upgrade but dk due to friend bin med
On my itinerary I am GM
    So middle seat was taken
Do you think it was deliberate to force one of us to move
So they could get window or aisle
Who in right mind books center. Seat!!!!!!
Ideas plz as of boeuf we don't make it up front
And there r still odd aisle seats how do we address this?
Also please I need some bumps
I'm in NYC please share some strategies
    Namaste!!!

On short flights(1 hour or less) I will take middle seats towards the front so I can get off the plane quicker. More likely explanation is someone bought a ticket and they were auto assigned seats.

Hard to tell from your post if your friend has status. If not, common practice is to split the reservation so the highest elite has a good chance. You were playing the game hoping for an empty middle seat. You lost that gamble and honestly, I haven't seem empty seats in quite a long time.

yea you gambled and seems it didnt workout as you planned.

Check to see if there are any empty rows and spin the wheel again (take the aisle and window on that row)

As for taking a middle seat it depends on the length of the flight, if its short flight and the row is up front and the flight is full Id take a middle seat and hope the 2 already there are traveling together so I will change with them for the aisle

If its a long flight apx 2+ hrs then I will try for an aisle but I dont want all the way in the back I try to stay max a few rows after the wing so in case of turbluence its not so rocky. Sometimes due to my status I will have an agent look to see if the 2 people have the same last name or are on the same PNR - traveling together as that means I got wnat I want in most cases the aisle seat up front

So far I never actually had to sit in a middle seat . But a couple of times when traveling with a friend we declined to switch didnt even ask the person in the middle if they wanted to and just kept the chatting to a bare min so as not to distrub that person in the middle seat that much. As neither of us wanted the middle and I wanted the aisle and they wanted the window so we were AOK with it as is
