I signed up for the free 5-day trial to test out the service and all 3 of the seat alerts have failed to run and execute properly; even upon manual execution they fail to locate availability even though there are seats open in my specification.

is this a newbie error or a system error?

Based on your screen shots it looks like you didn't choose the Treat Premium Only Seats As Available option, as such the exit row seats will not trigger the alert as they are marked Premium Only (purple on the AA.com seat maps). If you edit the alert to select that option, you will find the Quick Check tells you that there are seats available.

I did however choose to select my choice of seats (which I did and is shown); so even checking my own seats option chooses to ignore the premium seats preference?

i've made the changes you requested (selected premium as available) and ran the quick check and it still shows nothing available

If you look at the Seat Map again, you'll see that none of those seats are currently available:

i had AA up at the exact same time and was able to successfully select those seats (from my previous mail). clearly either i was not doing something right OR the alert was not working. regardless; i'm glad you guys offer the free trial but for some reason its not working for me so I will not be subscribing

If you selected those seats back when you made your initial post then they would now show as occupied, not available, to ExpertFlyer. So the only way to test would be to change your seating assignment away from those seats, then run the Quick Check.

If the Seat Alert is created correctly then it works, as it has since November 2009. If you would like help in creating another Seat Alert to test and show you it works please email us.
