Title says it, was gonna do ATL-MIA-LAX, now I'm on a non-stop ATL-LAX, is there a way to get original routing credit or should I expect to eat it?

Was it an involuntary reroute? If so, you should have a good chance of getting original routing credit by calling AAdvantage CS. If it was a voluntary change, I'd say your chances are much lower.

First of all the Advantage customer service has cut back on handling issues such as these..
You should get original credit unless you have gotten it a number of times previously,.. .they most likely will tell you that granting such requests are one time exceptions

Are you thinking of the regular customer service desk? I've not noticed ANY reductions to AAdvantage CS.

For those of us who still has the old Advantage CS number no not so far but JonNYC on the TB site ( a thread you posted in :)) reported a cutback on Customer Relations which surely must affect the dealing of issues such as this.. no?

Different desks. This would be handled by AAdvantage CS, which is very much alive. Jon was referring to Customer Relations, which handles post flight complaints, etc.

Never have had an issue with ORC. Just filed a request a last week. Correction posted the next day.

Ditto. Half a dozen requests last year for re-routes. 100% on getting it honored. Had one a month or so ago as well, no problem.
