    newbie here.....

I'm flying to Paris tomorrow and asked the wife if she would like to go and spend time wandering around while I worked the cardiac conference. She said sure. So, after reviewing my miles in United I realized I had enough miles for 1 RT from SFO and she could go on the same flight. Since I'm in business class I'll switch seats with her and let her relax.

The miles I get for travel are adding up fast since it's all business all year. Last year was to India, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Domincan Republic and Texas. This year so far has been to Europe, Singapore and Alabama with a second trip ti France and expecting some to Malaysia, Hong Kong and a third trip back to Europe.

I've been maximizing things and just snagged 4000 united miles for 3 nights at Crowne Plaza - Spring Hill Suites. All I had to do was check in and out the 3 seperate nights literally going 100 yeards to the other hotel the next day. Easy.

Your title is misleading in that someone could see it and believe that there was a RT (mistake) airfare available from someplace to CDG for $93. Your wife's ticket had fees of $93.30 but was an award ticket paid with miles. These are very different.....and an award ticket cannot be a MR because it earns no FF miles or points.

I was opening up my calendar to decide when to go. Sad to be unintentionally misled, but excited that OP is realizing the potential of his miles and points. Congrats on making the best of a business trip.

Indeed. At $93.30 I book first, ask questions later. If I can't stop to pick up clothes I'll procure on site. :)

How is this remotely relevant to MR'ing?

    Just saying

The whole title of the section includes the more nebulous term "travel hacking", which may be the explanation.

Or it might have just been misposted. No huge deal either way, except for everyone who was ready to start planning their trips.

I'll eat $33 club sandwiches all day long in Paris...actually I wouldn't because there are so many other awesome cuisine options.

    Welcome, and congrats!

And, good for you for giving your wife the biz class seat. You are a gentleman! Plus, you'll score huge brownie points for it, and good karma will come your way!

Agreed. Sounds awesome - my wife and I will be in Paris in a few weeks as well.

one thing to note is to Make sure you'll arrive fresh and ready to go, especially if your employer is paying extra for biz to ensure that.

Next time, state that you can find the fare for $89... you're losing some people at the $90 mark.
