Thanks for posting :) ... I found two certs there both with bid price of £350.00, which is around $566!

    Worth it?

a resounding NO in my opinion, most lame "top tier" hotel status I've ever had.

IIRC Kalboz, you travel in Asia extensively, so perhaps ymmv.

I was told NO selling on Milepoint........ Although gifting is OK!!!!!

These are always available on eBay, so not sure it needs to be posted for publicity sake......Unless it was an extra cert that The OP had.

Ps, I think the program is good, IF club access is an upgrade in the hotels you frequent...., yes Asia.

eBay cert go from 40O to 700 depending on demand, most being sold from china. Can't condone this since it violates the IC terms and conditions......

  7. I use my certs at properties like the IC London Park Lane and IC Hong Kong. There is value in those two properties

and I couldn't disagree more that the status and the IC chain is worthless - Ive been to the most amazing hotels in the world, from Tahiti, Bora Bora, LA, Portugal, London, Rome, Paris... and I've always been treated amazingly well...

I know that you can buy Ambassador status for 32K PC points ... but can you buy RA status?

You can't - it's by invitation only UNLESS a Royal Ambassador gives you a voucher and then, if you're already an Ambassador you get an upgrade to RA status, and if you're not you've to pay 200 USD and then you'll get the RA.

So basically, you can buy Ambassador for $200, and then buy up to RA for another $200?

Nop, if you are NOT an Ambassador then you get the RA voucher and then, because you're not an Ambassador, for getting the RA status you just need to pay 200 USD to get the RA. If you're an ambassador already then you just don't pay anything.

Are you stating that the ICs in Tahiti, Bora Bora, LA, Portugal, London, Rome, Paris.. are the most amazing hotels in the world? None finer in those locations? That I find very very hard to believe.

You would buy Ambassador for 200, get 1 Bogo and 5K point voucher.

Then, you need to get and RA cert..... Usually sold on ebay for 500-600 or trade with someone, going rate from what I've heard:) , 80k IC points, about the same in Hilton or 50k Miles....just depends.

Once you get the RA cert, you will recieve another BOGO and another 5k point voucher.... As stated, you cant officially "buy" Royal status. It would have to be Gifted ect as outlined above......

Definitely a top tier status in RA for IC. Truly. It does more than a little dissapoint in the general PC though.

Sweet Willie, why have you not been happy with RA? Where have you stayed that hasnt been up to your expectations?

Personally I find that the lack of consistency is the deal breaker for me, and why I will likely not be pursuing it again after I requalify this year (all on my own time and time).

But what did you see as so "lame"? Just curious. :)
