Routes you wish AA flew Thread

    With the AA and US merger likely to be approved, AA will probably cut routes, but hopefully add routes. This thread is intended for routes you wish AA flew on its own metal [including future medal that is currently US'] .

    The reason for the route can be whatever reason.

    Feel free to be creative, especially if there is a destination served only by US, but could be served by a current AA hub. :)

    Perhaps the AA folks will take notice :p

    I'll start....

    ORD-ORF [I would settle for American Eagle for the route]
    LAX-TUL [prefer mainline so that AA could shuttle in aircraft to be maintenced]
    JFK-TUL [would settle for American Eagle]
    MIA-SJD
    LAX-CUN
    JFK-MSY
    PHX-MSY
    MIA-CZM [AA operated this route briefly with ATR service before it stopped]
    DFW-GCM [would settle for weekend only service]
    DFW-BON and/or MIA-BON and/or JFK-BON
    ORD-OGG
    ORD-BZE
    ORD-BZN or DFW-BZN [would settle for American Eagle]
    DFW-BUF
    ORD-PWM

    What routes would others like to see the "new" AA fly?

    Bring back DFW-RNO that they killed along with Reno Air.
    PHX (or TUS) to anywhere West. SEA, LAX, OAK, SFO. Hate having to go 2.5 hours east to DFW to go West.

    AUS-SEA that departs AUS in the morning with the return from SEA departing in the afternoon, effectively complimenting the Alaska flight
    AUS-BOS
    AUS-DCA (assuming they can get perimeter rule exemption)
    AUS-YVR
    AUS-any vacation city in Mexico (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, etc)
    AUS-LHR (Austin is trying to get a non-stop flight to Europe)
    HKG-any AA hub
    TPE-any AA hub
    TLV-JFK

    Of the routes out of AUS, I think MIA has the best chance of actually happening.

    UA's onward service from Hawaii to Asia seems to be slowly withering away. Aren't there a number of pax who would like to stop in Hawaii for a few days coming/going from/to Asia?

    almost anywhere in the US to dozens of locations in Asia. Far too many to list. A350's and B787's should enable many of those.
    anywhere in the US East Coast to Moscow and Nice
    GIG-LAX, GIG-ORD.

    I'd love more locations from DCA or (second best) IAD. The merger should make a difference at DCA. Here are some ideas based on recent travel.

    DCA-BOS
    DCA-SFO
    IAD-SFO
    DCA-MSP

    My thinking is, if I am going to asia and my money will be worth more why am I going to spend it in hawaii unless I am japanese.

    Never gunna happen but...

    LAX/SFO-MEL/SYD/BNE

    The AA tie up with QF flying to LAX from SYD BNE and MEL as well as SYD-DFW effectively ensures AA metal won't be back in AU skies anytime soon!

    JAN-ATL Delta has a monopoly and routinely charges $1,100 to $1,300 for a 400 mile hop. Nine flights a day and many are full.

    SJU - BOS
    SJU - MCO Used to be a great route for AA before they cut it. JetBlue and Southwest are now doing well with it.
