Why would this be? The Hotel de Russie by Rocco Forte is seen as the top hotel of Rome. Having never stayed there by myself so far, but I've mostly heard good / great things about this hotel, from beautiful rooms, gorgeous food and of course their gardens, the most romantic in the whole of Rome of any hotel in the Eternal City. What could Rosewood make better, or is it all about enhancing the hotel product? Rocco Forte will expand in Italy in the future and looks to expand in major cities around the world too. Actually, Rosewood is looking out for the same, so we will see how both are growing over the coming years.
I'm glad for you that you will be staying there in July this year. You might report back here on MP later in the year. Regarding Rosewood, there's an interesting interview at Skift which might reveals a little bit about Rosewood, it's not particular to this hotel, but the group overall and their values: Interview: Rosewood CEO Sonia Cheng on Beating Luxury Expectations http://skift.com/2015/01/19/interview-rosewood-ceo-sonia-cheng-on-beating-luxury-expectations/
