Thanks to a few speaking engagements in Silicon Valley (for my new book), I decided to stay in the Valley as opposed to San Francisco, which is usually where I stay when I have an appointment down there.

I had never heard of the Rosewood Sand Hill before but, having just stayed at another Rosewood property, Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Cabo, I was fairly certain it would be of a very high calibre. I am pleased to report I was not disappointed - and in some respects (esp. dining) it was even better than Las Ventanas.

A few photos are below. My complete report is online here - three multimedia tours of the property using my photos are on page two Synopsis below.

It's not really that new. If memory serves right, it opened in 2009.

I guess, for me, that's new versus the overwhelming majority of hotels which have been around for decades.

True. I guess for me, having passed it a million times on I-280, it's a familiar sight/site :). I never stayed there, given that I am local, but I went there for a dinner event last year and looked around a bit. Very nice property.

Glad you found it helpful. I really became familiar with Rosewood in May when I stayed at Las Ventanas al Paraiso and I was glad that I explored this option and stayed there.
