Interesting. Very big hotel in terms of rooms to be a luxury property.

Rosewood might get's it right. It's the right mix, a great location, history and as far I can see some gorgeous rooms too.....as for the service? Rosewood is famous for great services in their hotels, I believe London can only gain with this hotel when it opens in Oct. this year.

Let's see uggboy. It is not easy ever with historic buildings- if they get it right it will be great. I do like the location- generally though it seems the majority of luxury properties are over in Knightsbridge, Park Lane, Hyde Park. I don't know why that is- except perhaps people prefer to stay there?

Then I'm glad that at least one operator chooses to break this location dilemma in London right now, regarding Knightsbridge, it's more about association, with Harrods in the neighborhood and expensive post codes, embassies, the parks, plus restaurants, it was always Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Belgravia, Hyde Park and the Green Park area which has attracted the old and new money first. Rosewood's new owner New World Developments are in for the long-haul, they own the London building and they want also expand Rosewood further around the world incl. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Phuket. Rosewood was before known to offer quiet luxury, and was more visited by insiders, but now, expansion looms and they could eventually rival Four Seasons on the world stage. We will have to wait for this, but it could happen. New World has big plans for Rosewood, and only time will tell.

I've had corporate agreement w/this property since it was Marriott and received notice that my agreement will remain w/change. It is a lovely property, rooms are large, my employees like it and an easy 15-20 minute walk to our offices at Cheapside/St Paul's. At night the area without office workers is a bit deserted and restaurants not great but Soho is two stops on central line or quick cab.

You can also walk over to Farringdon which has a few good restaurants now- about 10 minutes away.
