Ok is anyone else seriously annoyed by this? I click on the rooms and rates, get a popup, click on pictures for each room, get a popup. I got super annoyed so i ended up going to Hilton.com and booking a room.
What I don't get is I come to hyatt.com to book a room with Hyatt not at some competitor.

So they're not exactly a competitor, several chains are creating their own 3rd party booking agency to compete with the Expedias and Orbitzes of the world.

For me it's a popunder and i agree I find it really annoying.

Has anyone found a way to avoid these? I haven't found a browser setting (Internet Explorer) that prevents them yet, without killing off my ability to open new windows from links (deliberately).

And ironically the airlines were the ones who went down that road and created Orbitz...

Yeah I am REALLY sick of it to be honest. It has been getting on my last nerve for several weeks every time I click on a Hyatt search or go forward or back on the site pretty much.

First time I saw these and yes, they are very annoying. They finally went away after a few clicks!

I find that I don't get the pop-up when using firefox but I do get the pop-up when using chrome (so annoying that it will open up a new window each time so that if you are searching around you end up with 10 roomkey windows).

I've been getting them on everyone -- BW, Hyatt, Marriott, IHG... I'm also quite sick of them. A lot of times when I don't book I'm just putting in the research so when I do book a week/month down the line, I am ready to go. Of course, I book by property and not by price alone so I'm probably not their target market anyhow...

No. It started with me having never heard of them and it's ending with me refusing out of principle.

What I don't get is how Hyatt has set this up. The intention is to offer something in cities where Hyatt is not strong, but that's not what it's doing. I get the pop up behind every click I do when navigating properties I'm interested in. I also get it popping up in cities Hyatt are quite strong and has good presence.
