Carved Travertine keystone in a Roman fountain
Travertine is the stone of Rome. These are examples of the carvings to be found throughout the city.
Remember how much fun these were to operate? Not only exact change, but many had to have the money inserted in the EXACT order of increasing denomination. Oh, those were the days!!!
