Ngorongoro crater is on my itinerary. My wife is uncomfortable with roads whose shoulders are dropping into an "abyss".

She has a fear of heights.

I tried Google earth but alas no joy.

What are the roads into the crater like ?

    Thanks

By the standards of abyssal drops these roads are not very problematic for most people IMHO. That is I have yet to see anybody being frightened personally in my >10 times there. Regardless, making it down to the crater is one of the all-time greatest experiences for me. BTW, don't miss Lake Manyara whatever you do. The tree-climbing lions and the wildlife that stays there due to the unique local micro-climate makes that an essential part of that trip.

You'll have the time of your life, I confidently predict.:D

The roads into the crater don't give you that "into the abyss" feeling like you get in the Rocky Mountains or some place like that. But do you know which road you plan to descend? That might make a difference.
