The news of the day is that turnout for the blocos is higher than expected everywhere, attributed mostly to the effectiveness of social media. That is is raining has nothing to do with it. There are roughly a million tourists in the city now and all hotels seem to be at capacity or above it. About a third of all those are foreigners.

The non-bloco streets are empty because most smart Cariocas have left the city. Not me. We went to the supermarket a couple hours ago and heard, between Mrs. jb and I, nine languages that we recognized, but quite a few people were too far gone to be intelligible.

This city is managing without Dovster but I must admit the atmosphere is more subdued than it would be were he here.

I feel so sorry for the women of Rio. They spent all that money on a few square centimeters of bikini, only to not be appreciated by the Dovsterino. :(

I doubt they could be awaiting his return because he's never been here, at least during their reigns.

Oddly enough, we have the same debate in Israel. Before my arrival, Christians here anxiously awaited my return while Jews believed that I had never been here before.

I have never said a word about my philosophical are religious views here, so your perspicacity is astonishing insightful. That said, it is often said that my words and prognostications are prophetic. Nobody waits for my return because I have never left.

Now that Beija Flor has won the battle of the Carnival in Rio I will post the relevant photos soon. Dovster, please come to succor the throbbing breasts of the waiting muses of the season.

Dovster needs to speak to his own dream women. I can only speculate.
