Overall: Good Location: Excellent, in the center of the town, about 15 minute walk from the train/bus station. Rooms: It was a basic standard room along the front main street. Nice, clean and well lit. Breakfast: Was included in the price of the room. Quantity and quality of the food was good, made to order eggs always take it to another level. Cappuccino can be requested and is brought to the table. The breakfast area is very busy in the morning as it is shared with the guests at the sister hotel, Grand Hotel Union Business (co-located in the same building), which is a favorite with the tour groups and you find yourself surrounded by 150+ seniors. This can mean some waiting for your made to order eggs. Since all the tables get filled up, you do get to meet people from other countries at the breakfast table. Airport transportation: Did not need it, so can't comment on that. Miscellaneous Info.: The hotel staff was nice and friendly. One of the guys at the front desk helped us by making reservations for us for a shared van ride directly to Venice with GoOpti (about 35 euros/person) for the next day departure and we tipped him for that. Others wanted us to take a private taxi to the Italian border for 110-140 euros and then take a train to Venice - bad advice. There are also early morning buses (two) from the bus station to Venice. Slovenia must have ticked off Italy as there is no direct train service to Venice. The only train service available - one during the day and one overnight - is through Austria with a train change and takes a long time.
