  1. Retail demand sees AirAsia X raising take off

THE flamboyant chief executive of Malaysian long-haul, low-cost carrier AirAsia X says demand for the retail component of its $US370 million ($399m) initial public offering has been "unprecedented" as the carrier ramps up its Australian expansion plans.
The float, one of the biggest share offerings in the Malaysian market this year, is due to close on Monday and chief executive Tony Fernandes this week said the airline had been vindicated in offering a large retail portion of more than 10 per cent of its enlarged share capital.
