Reserving Seats Without Paying the Fee?

    Is it possible to reserve your seats on BA ahead of time either without using the fee or using Avios instead of cash?

    A small correction. Only full fare business class get you seat allocation at booking if you don't have status.

    Nope, no status and this ticket was booked through AA rewards.

    I just wanted to try and get my wife and myself up in the upper deck of the 747.

    Speaking of OLCI, I am flying YYZ-LHR-BLR. Layover/connection time is 5 hrs at LHR. When I check in online for the YYZ-LHR leg, am I able to check-in for the LHR-BLR leg, or do I have to wake up in the middle of the night to play OLCI seat roulette for the second leg?

    You'll be able to check in for both legs when OLCI opens for your first leg. Nice little bonus!
