Reservation Line "Hold Time" Discovery

    I wanted to share an experience I had calling in to United's reservation line. I used my 1K tel number. It said my wait time would be "approximately 25-30 minutes" and "calls are answered in the order in which they are received." I stayed on hold for about 5 minutes; then, decided to call the 1K line again using another telephone line in my home. The second time, I got an agent immediately without any wait at all. Obviously, I hung up on the line that was still on hold. So, if you have more than one telephone number in your home and United says you'll be on hold for some exorbitant period of time; try calling them on another line and hang up the phone that doesn't get answered first.
